I've had the privilege of attending two group casting director Q&A's, one of which has won an Emmy.
There were a few actor faux pas that I noticed in BOTH sessions, so I want to share those in case they are going unnoticed by other actors.
These CD's are sharing their very valuable time with us, so let's not waste it!
Watch this quick slideshow so you can look like a pro at your next group CD Q&A.

Our number one job as actors is to listen. Ask new questions. No repeats!
If we can't listen to our peers during a group Q&A, why should a casting director expect us to listen to our scene partner, their casting notes, or a director if they book us for a job?
It's painfully obvious when we preface our question with self-promotion. We need to get to the point without listing our resumes.
If a casting director wants to see our credits, they know where to look!
We actors have a certain flair, don't we? But we should keep our facial expressions in check. Have a friendly face--no furrowed brows.
Getting access to a casting director is rare, which can lead us to unload on them if we have a question about something that's frustrating us.
Venting or looking upset about an issue can make them feel uncomfortable, even if our frustration isn't directed at them. They're there to help, so let's make sure our faces are only expressing gratitude.
Be sure to put these three tips in your phone as a reminder if you need a quick reference.
I also highly encourage you to write out one practical question ahead of time. For example, "Do you prefer to see resume credits listed by role name or role type?"
In the meantime, boost your odds of getting cast by growing a loyal fanbase. Studios are looking for actors that can attract viewers:
